The New York Yankees announced two big changes to their postseason roster ahead of the American League Championship Series Monday.
The New York Yankees will be playing closer to full strength as they advance in the postseason.Two veterans — first baseman Anthony Rizzo and pitcher Marcus Stroman — were added to the Yankees' American League Championship Series roster for the best-of-seven round against the Cleveland Guardians beginning Monday.Rizzo, 35, suffered fractures in the fourth and fifth fingers in his right hand when he was hit by a pitch in the Yankees' Sept. 28 game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Stroman was left off the Yankees' 26-man AL Division Series roster because teams do not typically need four traditional starters in a best-of-five series.
