The New York Yankees have reportedly made a decision on who will replace John Sterling as their play-by-play voice on WFAN.
Theeeeeeee Yankees have made a big decision about their next radio play-by-play broadcaster.Seattle Mariners TV announcer Dave Sims is nearing a deal to become WFAN's new play-by-play broadcaster on Yankees games, according to the New York Post.Sims, 71, has called Mariners games on television since 2007. The Post reports the deal has not been finalized.John Sterling retired at the end of the 2024 World Series, which the Yankees lost in five games to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In addition to television work with the Mariners, Sims co-hosts 'Basketball & Beyond with Coach K' for Sirius XM with former Duke University men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski, and is a correspondent for MLB Network and calls Big East college basketball on FS1.A two-time Emmy Award winner, Sims also won the American Football Foundation's Outstanding Sportscaster Award in 2003 and the Big East Media Award in 2005.
