MLB and the players union’s next round of CBA negotiations have yet to be scheduled as the league’s lockout enters its second month.

the two sides' negotiations in the days leading up to the lockout included no economic proposals from the league.

Happ called it a"horrible way to negotiate," suggesting at least how much ground the sides have to make up when they reconvene. MLB entered its first work stoppage since 1994 when the league induced a lockout on Dec. 2. The anticipation was the league and union would resume negotiations this month. Although there currently aren't any talks scheduled, some reports have suggested Feb. 1 is a soft deadline for an agreement so spring training and the 2022 season can start on time. Others have suggested the lockout could last longer and delay the start of the season.

However, the lack of current negotiations does not necessarily indicate the two sides won't reengage in the coming days and weeks.
