Erskine is a local living legend

has died at the age of 97.Erskine played for the Brooklyn and then Los Angeles Dodgers.He served in the Navy and played professional ball from 1948-1959. Erskine pitched for the Dodgers in five World Series.After his retirement, Erskine returned to Indiana and was active in the community.In Anderson, there is a statue in his honor and an elementary school with his name.Colts Owner Jim Irsay reacted to Erskine's passing on X.
