After allowing 100 yards rushing and 14 points on the first two drives, Missouri's defense buckled down, allowing just seven additional points in the team's 38-21 win at Kentucky.
LEXINGTON, Ky. — In the words of Mizzou coach Eli Drinkwitz, he and his team knew Saturday night’s game at Kentucky was going to be a “street fight.” After his defense took a couple of first round uppercuts, it “counter-punched,” putting together a strong performance to seal a 38-21 win.
The senior running back had gains of seven, 13 and 14 on the opening drive, capping the series with a 7-yard receiving TD. The second drive looked similar. Davis carries of 11 and 17 yards began the drive, and quarterback Devin Leary rushed up the middle for a 13-yard score. In the injury absence of cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr., true freshman Phillip Roche stepped up, recording his first career sack in the second quarter.

The defensive front slowly wore down the Kentucky offensive line as the game progressed, finding more end results for the earlier pressure.
