Miyazaki has pledges to incorporate bits of Elden Ring that didn't do so well in his next titles, whatever they are.
Despite Elden Ring’s success in winning the Game of the Year award on its release, Miyazaki has admitted that there are elements of the game that “didn’t go so well,” alongside revealing his tenacity to incorporate these elements into future titles. With a game as polished and carefully crafted as FromSoftware’s latest, it’s hard to know which features exactly he is referencing, and there’s a good chance that they were cut entirely.
That two-way process, the communication with the players, has been really good this time, I feel—it’s something we’ve managed to lock into a little better. So taking those bits that didn’t go so well this time with Elden Ring and incorporating those and improving those in a future title—that’s something I’m really excited for.” There’s something sombre about reading Miyazaki’s words in this extract.
