Miyan Williams earned Big Ten offensive player of the week honors following his five-touchdown performance against Rutgers on Saturday.
Throughout the first four games, Williams performed well next to TreVeyon Henderson in the Ohio State backfield, but with Henderson unable to participate against Rutgers because of an injury, he significantly impacted the Buckeye offense to the tune of a 39-point win.
In 2022, Williams has carried the ball 64 times for 497 yards and a career-high eight touchdowns across five contests. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the third-year running back will also set career highs in carries and yards after toting the rock only 71 times for 507 yards last season alongside Henderson and former Buckeye Master Teague.
Wiiliams' Big Ten offensive player of the week award adds him to a list of Buckeyes to claim the honor this season. Marvin Harrison Jr. started the trend with a Big Ten co-offensive player of the week honor after his three-touchdown performance against the Red Wolves, and C.J. Stroud won the same accolade outright following a five-score outing against Toledo.
