Some say they are already 'surrounded' by shops
Plans to create dozens of new homes on a derelict site were met with excitement by a Nottingham community - but some are still on the fence with the proposal of a new supermarket being built in the neighbourhood. It comes as a planning application has been submitted to build 62 new homes on a vacant site in Bestwood.
The erection of a new Lidl in the area has been described as a 'major development' in the application, and the supermarket would also come with a car park. However, neighbours living in flats in Wyton Close, near the vacant site, said they already have "too many supermarkets here".Adrian Balcer, a painter and decorator in the area, 31, said: "There would be too many shops here. We have already got plenty of shops.
The 43-year-old driver, also a dad, added: "There are many children here with nowhere to play. Give these children a playground or a park.
