"Well, the Republican Party has long been the party of the Constitution. So when President Trump says he wants to suspend the Constitution, he goes from being MAGA to being RINO," Romney quipped Monday. The remarks were widely seen as a call to scrap provisions of the Constitution and provoked a swift backlash, including from John Bolton and Senate Minority Whip John Thune .
