The Golden Flashes’ Julius Rollins mistakenly thought his team was down with seconds left and committed an intentional foul that cost Kent State a conference title and the tournament.
Julius Rollins’s mistake, one of those brain freeze moments, came at the worst possible moment, with his Kent State team only seconds from securing an NCAA tournament berth.
“As I told the team, I should have called a timeout there. I do not blame Julius,” Senderoff said. “There’s 100 plays in the game and that was just one of them.”Still, the mistake, Senderoff said, is “probably the worst thing that’s ever happened” to the sophomore guard from Chicago.
