Missouri Tigers strengthen their defensive line by acquiring Langden Kitchen from Northwest Missouri State, filling a key need after several departures and expiring eligibility.
The Missouri Tigers bolstered their defensive end position on Tuesday by securing Langden Kitchen from Northwest Missouri State . This move addresses a pressing need for Missouri on the defensive line, following the departures of freshmen Williams Nwaneri and Jaylen Brown to the transfer portal after a single season with the Tigers. Nwaneri, a former five-star prospect, joined Nebraska, while Brown, a four-star recruit, opted to stay within the SEC, transferring to South Carolina.
Moreover, Missouri anticipates losing valuable depth due to the expiring eligibility of both Joe Moore III and team captain Johnny Walker Jr. Kitchen, a product of Westran High School, hails from a location less than an hour away from the University of Missouri campus. During his two seasons at Northwest Missouri State, Kitchen compiled 30 tackles, including 10.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 270 pounds, Kitchen arrives at Missouri with two years of eligibility remaining. Kitchen marks Missouri's fifth addition through the transfer portal and the fourth to the defensive side of the ball. The Tigers have also welcomed Mississippi State wide receiver Kevin Coleman, Northern Illinois safety Santana Banner, Nebraska linebacker Mikai Gbayor, and West Virginia linebacker Josiah Trotter.
