Missouri hires Cleveland State’s Dennis Gates as basketball coach.
The 42-year-old Gates comes to the Tigers from Cleveland State, where he went 50-40 in three seasons. The Vikings won the Horizon League regular-season championship each of the last two years, reaching the NCAA tournament in 2021.
Gates replaces Cuonzo Martin, who was fired last week after five seasons and two NCAA tournament berths. The Tigers went 12-21 this past season.
