After struggling for months to get City Hall to pay attention to their quest to build a ballpark downtown, the owners of the San Antonio Missions have won the support of Mayor Ron Nirenberg — and the likelihood of public financing. The city of San Antonio plans to kick in funds to help pay for a stadium near San Pedro Creek Culture Park for the Double-A baseball team, which currently plays at the aging Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium on the West Side .
