MISSION VIEJO — Mission Viejo’s football team put together its second dominant effort in a row Friday in a 45-8 win over Alemany of Mission Hills at Mission Viejo High.

“Now we are healthy and getting better practices,” Johnson said. “It was weird being like, ‘that guy can barely get out of bed but he’s going to play Friday.’ We have been doing more best-on-best in practice now and competing.” Matthews returned a punt 48 yards into Alemany territory, and then scored on a 19-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 14-0.Mission Viejo’s defense forced a turnover on downs inside the Alemany 20. Michael Salgado-Medina made a 30-yard field goal to extend the lead to 24-0.
