Mission Pawsible recognizes the incredible potential for a unique bond between senior citizens and senior dogs. The campaign aims to create a win-win situation by connecting senior dogs in need of forever homes with senior citizens seeking companionship and love. Owning a pet has been shown to provide numerous benefits for senior citizens, including reduced stress, increased social interaction, and a sense of purpose and responsibility. The Mission Pawsible campaign aims to improve the lives of both senior dogs and senior citizens by facilitating meaningful connections and companionship.
To support the shelter's efforts, people are encouraged to donate essential supplies through the Franklin County Dog Shelter's Amazon. The wish list includes items such as food, bedding, toys, and other supplies necessary for the care and well-being of the dogs awaiting adoption. In addition to the adoption promotion and donation drive, a special "Second Chances" phone bank will be available from noon to 1 p.m. at ABC 6 on Monday. Staff members from the Franklin County Dog Shelter and the Office on Aging will be available to provide information, answer questions and guide people through the adoption process.
