A missing woman has been pronounced dead after Houston police said she was found in a bayou in Clear Lake eaten by an alligator.

Houston Police Department Lt. Larry Crowson said people were searching for the woman on Tuesday morning when they found her in the bayou located in the 2700 block of Coastal Oak Drive.According to a press release from HPD, officers found the woman’s remains inside the alligator’s jaw. To prevent the gator from doing more damage, police said one of the sergeants at the scene shot and killed the alligator.Investigators are working to determine if the woman was killed by the alligator or if she died by other means and was later consumed by the gator.Historian, educator, writer, expert on "The Simpsons," amateur photographer, essayist, film & tv reviewer and race/religious identity scholar.
