A Massachusetts animal rescue was shocked when they scanned a stray cat for a microchip and discovered he was missing from Texas.
A Texas cat who went missing in January 2022 was just found safe halfway across the country, and no one knows how he got there. Shoto the cat escaped from his family's house in Texas during a cold snap a few years back, according to a post from the Dakin Humane Society . His family launched a desperate search, but never located him.

Staff scanned the cat for a microchip, discovering that his owner, Karla, was in Texas. 'No one except for Shoto will ever know how he got to Massachusetts, what he experienced, or who he met along the way,' the rescue wrote. 'That adventure will forever remain his secret.
