'We're very much well-known for the white shirt now,' says designer Misha Nonoo, discreetly referring to the most famous fan of her 'Husband Shirt': the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle
Not long after her eponymous fashion label originally launched, designer Misha Nonoo spotted a girl wearing one of her miniskirts in her Greenwich Village neighborhood.
“I went up to her, and I was like, [exuberant wave],” says Nonoo, flailing in imitation of herself, Celine pearl drops jangling. “‘Hi, I just want to say, I designed that skirt, that’s me, the label is me!’ And she looked at me as though I was insane,” she says. “So I don’t really do that to people anymore.”
