Tapsell will write, executive produce and star in the new eight-part series for Amazon's Prime Video.

A new eight-part spin-off series of the 2019 film created, executive produced and written by Miranda Tapsell and Joshua Tyler will be set and filmed in the Northern Territory. The series serves as a sequel to the film and brings back Tapsell's character Lauren, who is described as a "dynamic Indigenous lawyer ticking off life goals in Adelaide" as she faces new challenges.

The couple now have to juggle new challenges as parents and try to keep their marriage together, while Lauren must also come to terms with cultural responsibilities and leave behind her individualist lifestyle. Co-creator and co-writer, Joshua Tyler said he loved reviving the characters from the film for "It has been fun to dive back into the world of a world that means so much to us and to our audience," Tyler said.
