Miramonte hires former Northgate coach Mike Shaughnessy to be its next head basketball coach.
Mike Shaughnessy, shown here in a file photo, was hired to be Miramonte’s next head basketball coach. “I feel like it was a good fit for me,” Shaughnessy told the Bay Area News Group Tuesday. “We live very close to Miramonte and we feel like we’re a part of the community. I’m excited to be back in the Diablo Athletic League.”
Shaughnessy led Northgate to a North Coast Section Open Division playoff berth in 2022. In three seasons, the New Jersey-born coach had a 37-33 record.
