Padres' Drew Pomeranz records just one out as rehab moves to Triple-A El Paso, Brandon Dixon homers twice for Chihuahuas

Pomeranz had thrown two scoreless innings at low Single-A Lake Elsinore before shifting his rehab assignment to the Pacific Coast League, where it was supposed to begin nearly two weeks ago only to be derailed by a stiff neck. Pomeranz has not pitched in the majors since undergoing flexor tendon surgery in August 2021 and last year’s attempts to return to the Padres stalled in El Paso. allowed eight runs on nine hits, including two homers, and three walks in 4 1/3 innings.
El Paso scored seven runs over the final seven innings to secure the win, which included right fielder hitting a tiebreaking home run in a four-run eighth, his second blast of the game and fourth this season. drove in five runs on two hits, including a double, and shortstop went 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored.
