Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum made history after he became the franchise's youngest-ever player to reach 10,000 points.
"If you look around the country, there aren't too many communities the size of Dothan that don't have some type of pro or semi-pro sports," Steve Donner, president of Dothan FC, said."We're excited to get the ball rolling with this, and we hope to get the entire community involved to have some fun."
The growth of Dothan and the changes made to Rip Hewes intrigued Donner to bring a franchise to the Circle City. People are also reading… Open tryouts will be held in March 2024, with the season slated to begin in April or May. Donner is currently in talks with two leagues to join, and his goal is to have a roster full of local and national talent.
Donner comes into the area with three decades of experience in the sports entertainment industry. Throughout his career, Donner has been a part of 10 championship teams in soccer, lacrosse, and hockey and was instrumental in establishing several professional franchises, including the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning and the Orlando City Major League Soccer team. He wants to take the Dothan franchise as far as possible.
