A police officer was shot and a 70-minute standoff ensued in Granite Falls, Minnesota, while a task force executed warrants on a suspect wanted for multiple weapons and drug charges.

The Granite Falls Police Department said a multi-agency drug and gang task force was executing a knock-and-announce search warrant at approximately 4 p.m. on Bergeson Drive. "Upon entry into the residence,took gunfire from someone inside," the department said in a press release."Officers returned fire and retreated outside where a single officer said he had been struck by a bullet.
The injured officer has since been treated and released from the hospital. The investigation is ongoing, but there is no further risk to the public, police said.
