This diamond in the rough wasn’t hard to find.
A Minnesota couple on an 11-state road trip to celebrate their 10th anniversary stumbled upon a 1.9-carat brown diamond,Seth and Jessica Erickson were at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas Nov. 4 when they came across the sparkler while wet sifting, one of the most effective diamond searching methods.
After an hour of looking, Seth found the jewel in the park’s 37.5 acre diamond search area. The lovebirds, who are residents of Chatfield, MN, named it HIMO, using the initials of each of their children.According to the park, there have been close to 600 diamonds registered there this year, which means on average one or two are found by visitors daily.
