KUALA LUMPUR: Covid-19 tests have been carried out on the close contacts of the man from a government-linked company but none have proved positive so far, says the Health Ministry.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that tests done on his close contacts, family members and his secretary were found to be negative.He said those with the highest risk will be family members and those with close continuous contact.
Asked if the patient was also in close contact with a former minister and former deputy minister, he said the ministry will release a statement soon. On Sunday , MalaysiaKini reported that a Covid-19 patient was believed to have come in close contact with the two leaders. It was learnt that the patient, who is a senior member of the Khazanah group and the head of a government-linked company, attended a ministry function with the two former leaders.
It was an appreciation event on Feb 27 as they were leaving the ministry following the dissolution of the Pakatan Harapan government.Khazanah Nasional Bhd had confirmed that one of its employees had been infected by Covid-19, said the report, which added that the Khazanah employee is case number 26.He started having fever and sore throat on Feb 27 and sought outpatient treatment at a private hospital on the same day.
