Police Minister Bheki Cele's launch of a crime combatting team in Carletonville went ahead, despite objections from some members the community present. Reporter Govan Whittles is there, and joins us now. CourtesyPolice Minister Bheki Cele says the mining unions in Carletonville have agreed to a peace agreement.

Cele on Tuesday launched a crime combating team in Blybank, West Rand following a spate of violence in the area.The minister says those who defy the peace pact will be dealt with. "We've said that everybody... we said if you don't want to be part of peace, we'll have to enforce peace....those properties didn’t burn themselves. Those who've done that will have to bear the consequences", said Cele.
