Mojang Studios' popular video game Minecraft is officially receiving an CG-animated series adaptation at Netflix.
, the series is expected to “feature an original story with new characters, showing the world of Minecraft in a new light.” It is currently being developed with animation studio WildBrain, who previously worked with Netflix on shows such as Sonic Prime and Carmen Sandiego.Live-Action Minecraft Movie Will Be Led by an All-Star Castare attached to lead the all-star cast.
The film is being directed by Nacho Libre’s Jared Hess from a screenplay written by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer. It is produced by Mary Parent, Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Cale Boyter, Momoa, Torfi Frans Olafsson, Vu Bui, and the late Jill Messick, with Todd Hallowell, Kayleen Walters, Brian Mendoza, and Jonathan Spaihts serving as executive producers.
