A recent poll reveals that homeownership is becoming increasingly unattainable for millennials and Gen Z due to high housing prices, interest rates, and difficulties in saving for a deposit.

Homeownership seems further out of reach for millennials and Gen Z , according to fresh polling.Susan McKinnon Foundation Poll Program Lead Matt Crocker told Sky News Australia that there is a “big gap” between housing aspiration and housing expectation.

“High housing prices are issue number one, interest rates are issue number two and the ability to save for a deposit are the big three challenges that young people say that they face in trying to get into the housing market. “Young people haven’t given up on the Australian dream; they think that sense of home ownership is still something that they want to get to.”
