A special group of military members were showered with love as they prepared to welcome 40 young new 'recruits.'
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A surprise baby shower greeted 40 pregnant military mothers-to-be, both service members and military spouses, at Pike’s Landing on Wednesday afternoon, courtesy of Operation Shower .
A baby shower is usually a special time surrounded by your closest family and friends. When military members are reassigned to new and far-flung posts, however, they might leave these support groups behind. “This baby shower is special to me for many reasons,” added military spouse Makenzie Fuss. “First, we are new to the area, so we were super excited to get in here and meet some new families that are expecting.”
At the end of the day the new mothers left with gifts, treats and nursery essentials - not to mention connections with new friends.
