Shadow net zero secretary Ed Miliband said the Prime Minister viewed the green agenda as an obligation rather than an opportunity.

Rishi Sunak “does not give a damn” about climate change, Ed Miliband claimed following the Prime Minister’s decision to postpone a series of green policies.

Addressing the online conference of Labour’s sister Co-operative Party, Mr Miliband said: “We face three crises as a country.Former Labour leader Mr Miliband said Mr Sunak has “got answers to none of these” and “he doesn’t give a damn about the climate crisis”. And on Saturday the BBC reported that an energy efficiency taskforce set up to speed up home insulation and boiler upgrades has been disbanded, just six months after it was announced.

He said Labour had a “proper industrial strategy to do it” with subsidies for firms to locate in the UK.
