The investment platform — which claims to own a share of the copyright for Mars’ track — alleges that the chorus, harmony, melody, chord progressions and lyrics of “Flowers” were “intentionally” taken from the “24K Magic” hitmaker’s song.In a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Tempo Music Investments claims “Flowers” shares “musical similarities” to Mars’ song “When I Was Your Man.
“Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular, so please don’t think that this is important.”The investment firm, which claims to own a share of Mars’ song, alleges “Flowers” copies the melody, harmony and chorus from “When I Was Your Man.”“No shade, but I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and this is my first time actually being taken seriously at the Grammys?” she said in an interview with W Magazine in June.
