Former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, who served as a consultant for the Cleveland Browns in 2024, is interviewing for the Jets head coaching position. The Jets fired Robert Saleh earlier this season after a disappointing record. Vrabel previously interviewed for head coaching roles with the Panthers, Chargers, and Falcons in 2024.

“Coach ‘Vrabes’ is one of my favorites,” Kevin Stefanski said this week. “Just a rock-solid human. Was a great help to this football team, a great help to me, a great help to our scout-team defense. He’s going to do great. Part of adjusting his contract was letting him get a head start on some of these interviews, and I think a team will be lucky to have him.”
Browns tight ends coach and passing game specialist Tommy Rees, who worked closely with him before Vrabel assumed more responsibility with the offensive line, will cherish his year with him. Rees, who interviewed twice for the North Carolina head coaching job that went to Bill Belichick, might have a chance to join Vrabel when he gets a job. The only way he’ll hire a Browns assistant is if he promotes him to coordinator, or does so with the Browns’ blessing.
