Trout singles twice in a 12-5 win over Arizona in his first action in 306 days after missing most of last season with a strained calf
Using most of their everyday players for the first time this spring, the Angels exploded for 12 hits and four homers in a 12-5 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday at Tempe Diablo Stadium.Right-hander Daniel Ponce De Leon gave up a homer to David Peralta in the first inning, and then nothing else through his two innings. He also walked two in the first, before throwing a perfect second. Ponce De Leon, 30, is in camp on a minor-league deal, and likely provides depth for Triple-A.
Mike Trout played in his first game in 306 days, after missing most of last season with a strained calf. Trout lined a single into left in each of his two at-bats. “I was like anxious to get out there before the game,” Trout said. “It felt really good … Just to go out there and be with the guys was fun.
