Adams once again shared his excitement over Aaron Korsh’s upcoming Suits spinoff and said he would be up to return as Mike Ross if needed. Could Change The Status Of His Marriage A Mike Ross Return Would Have To Acknowledge Rachel’s Absence If Mike shows up in Suits: L.A., the spinoff will likely acknowledge his personal life, or at least how things have been for his clinic in Seattle. This means that it is arguably impossible for Mike to have a cameo in Suits: L.A. without the show acknowledging Rachel.
Patrick J. Adams reprised his role as Mike Ross in three episodes of Suits season 9, including the series finale. While these episodes made a couple of references to Rachel – one of which even joked about how the character was doing just fine back home – they simply established that Mike’s wife remained in Seattle while was in New York. Aaron Korsh would later reveal that he did not even consider asking Markle to appear in the finale because he didn’t want to put her in that situation.
Why Mike And Rachel Need To Remain Married The Suits Franchise Should Not Throw Away Mike And Rachel’s Character Arcs Close Mike having to appear without Rachel does not mean that Suits: L.A. – or any kind of Suits revival – would have to break up the couple. Mike’s appearances in Suits season 9 worked just fine with the justification that Rachel was in Seattle, and the same could be done again every time he was to come back.
