Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Sunday stood firm in his rhetoric about Iran, saying it was “unmistakable” that Tehran was responsible for what appeared to be attacks on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman last week
.
On Sunday, Pompeo added that U.S. intelligence had “lots of data, lots of evidence” to back up his claim. On Sunday, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia accused Iran of being behind the attacks on the vessels. Japanese crew members, however, have said that the vessels were hit by “flying objects,” not Iranian mines, as the U.S. and Saudi Arabia have said.
