Norvell didn't mince words after Florida State's tenth and final loss of the 2024 season.
Florida State lost for the seventh time in eight games on Saturday night to round out its 2024 season. The Seminoles were doomed by turnovers and offensive ineptitude as they were controlled by the Florida Gators for much of the game in Tallahassee.Following the loss, head coach Mike Norvell spoke with the media to provide his thoughts on Florida State dropping to 2-10. His full comments from the post-game presser are transcribed below.First off, extremely disappointed in today.
Q. You spun it forward a great bit there. What did you learn from this year? What was the biggest lesson to help prevent something like this from ever happening again?There were layers to events that happened throughout the course of the season.
For us, I mean, as a staff, making sure that we evaluate and find the right leaders, which I'm very confident we are doing, and have done in spots. But it's going to be a great push. I'm excited for that work. I'm excited for that challenge. I'm excited for all the things to be able to put an identity and who we are on display, because we got a way from that. Our identity did not show up on a consistent basis the way it needed to throughout the course of this season.
We have had those guys that have come in in the past and we're going to have them come in now. Because like I said, this will be a year we look back and it's going to be sick to remember, but it will be one that absolutely will never happen again. The people that are coming in are going to be a part of that. The people that are here and that return will be a part of that. And, yes, the choice has to be made.
