Jones hired McCarthy ahead of the 2020 season to replace long-time coach Jason Garrett, whose contract, similar to McCarthy's, was reaching its end. The search for McCarthy's successor is already underway, with the Cowboys facing stiff competition from other teams with open coaching positions, including those in Chicago and New Orleans. One top candidate, Mike Vrabel, has already been snatched up by the New England Patriots over the weekend. The Cowboys now have to decide on their next move.
