Summary The Life of Chuck director Mike Flanagan reveals what surprising part of the movie was impossible to film. The Life of Chuck is an upcoming Stephen King adaptation from the novella collection If It Bleeds. I did a movie last year where the biggest art department challenge we had was putting up a billboard. I was like, it's a flat image that just needs to stand up. We ended up doing it digitally. I was like, we couldn't achieve having a flat thing. It was just the size of it, and it had to be on top of a building, and the logistics of that...there was some safety , there was some questions about the roof itself, about wind, about powerlines nearby. I was like, 'Guys, we can solve this.
Though Flanagan does not specify The Life of Chuck by name, it is safe to assume this is the movie he is discussing. The Life of Chuck was filmed in 2023 and features a large billboard on top of a bank as a key story point.
