Mike DeWine based COVID policy on science. Will he reject science by forcing hospitals to treat it with worm medicine? Today in OhioCLEVELAND, Ohio - Will Gov. Mike DeWine sign a bill that forces hospitals to give COVID patients worm medicine, even though it’s not based on science?
How is Gov. Mike DeWine inserting himself into the controversy surrounding a stadium for the Cleveland Browns? The annual fiction contest that is the release of the so called “community benefits” reports by our hospital systems took place Thursday. How much do the systems claim they are providing to the community?
In Ohio, boneless does not mean boneless? And “boneless chicken wings” is a cooking method, like baking? Today in OhioWe did get an answer to our question earlier in the week about why the Ohio Supreme Court was ruling on a federal court case on the opioid epidemic. Turns out the case was brought under state law, but because they were filed in so many states, they were consolidated in federal court. The overriding issue is a state court issue.
Onto the stories. Lisa, our readers are howling about this one too. Why would President Joe Biden commute the sentence of the most corrupt figure in the history of Cuyahoga County, Jimmy DeMora?Yeah, Jimmy was among 1500 people whose sentences were commuted by President Biden in the largest single day clemency granting in history. All of them, including Demora, convicted of nonviolent crimes and released at least one year ago under what was called the CARES Act.
the federal government spent to clear up this thing. They put 60 plus people in jail. This was a massive corruption. It took years to investigate it. Agents all over the place. I just am mind boggled that without even thinking about the message this sends to politicians in Cuyahoga County that Biden would do this. And look, Marty Sweeney, of course he’s excited about it. He’s the chucklehead that was on the pyramid. They showed a pyramid of the corruption in court. Marty Sweeney was on it.
The governor is open to supporting state funding for either a new or renovated stadium, but he wants a clear, united proposal from the Browns and local governments before he asks the General Assembly for help. And while the Browns are keeping quiet about all their specifics, they’ve hinted that public funding would primarily come from taxes generated by the project. Meanwhile, Cleveland leaders...Which is never, let’s wait, stop there. That’s never going to happen. We’ve done stories showing it.
Okay, since 1952, a Supreme Court decision allowed release time, but only if no public resources are used and it is off campus and students are not forced to attend. An Ohio law says it can’t occur during core subjects like English, math, and so forth. It cannot favor a particular sect, but most programs out there are Christian, including Lifewise Academy, which is spreading like wildfire.
But after his conviction, actually served in the US Air Force and rose to the rank of sergeant after that.Yeah, and I think with these, unlike with the 1500 sentence commutations that included Demora, these got study. These seem to be cases that were looked at pretty closely before Biden made his decision. With the commutations, they just did blanket, which is ridiculous. They should have looked at them individually. So these are, these are deserving people, unlike Jimmy Demora.
