Migrant boy found dead on French beach after using 3ft toy dinghy with a shovel as an oar in bid to reach Britain
A MIGRANT boy, 16, was found dead on a French beach after a desperate bid to reach UK shores.
Philippe Sabatier, deputy prosecutor, confirmed that a criminal enquiry had been opened into the 16-year-old’s death. The Boulogne prosecutor will be assisted by judicial police as they try to work out who was behind the attempted boat crossing. Home Secretary Priti Patel has also described the death of a 16-year-old Sudanese migrant as a "tragic loss" and a "brutal reminder" of people smugglers "who exploit vulnerable people".Last August, two people died trying to reach Britain - one of them an Iranian woman who fell overboard and whose body was found in Dutch waters weeks later.
