Midwest LB Sam Pilof picks Rutgers over Big Ten powers Penn State and Wisconsin
earned the fourth commitment of its 2024 recruiting class out of the blue following a spring practice when Middleton linebacker’s office on Saturday. A 6-foot-2, 210-pound sledgehammer ranked three-stars, Pilof has family in New Jersey and Delaware, and plays the physical brand of football that Rutgers intends to adopt moving toward.
It’s a good grab from the Midwest over Big Ten Powers Wisconsin, the in-state school in this case, and Penn State, plus Iowa State, which sent its regards from the Big 12. Greg Schiano was the first head coach to offer Pilof during a trip to Rutgers on April 6 of last year, and Schiano and his staff courted the the junior hard ever since.
