to develop Central Park, which is slated to eventually include a nature playground, community garden, tree grove, water feature, storybook trail and more. “In the last six months or so, we released a master plan for Central Park, and we talked about focusing on assembling grants, as well as other financial opportunities, this year and next, to help make Central Park a reality,” Castelli told council, adding the grant being sought is for water management purposes.
“It will be used for infrastructure help for retention of storm water and ground water, as well as become an aesthetic piece to Central Park,” he said.The grant provides up to 50 percent reimbursement for outdoor recreation projects, according to the ODNR website. Minimum project awards are $50,000; the maximum is $500,000.
