The GoFundMe goal to help Rourke avoid eviction is set at $100,000, and so far, nearly 2,000 people have made donations.

A GoFundMe that was recently set up to help actor Mickey Rourke stay in his home and avoid eviction has hit a new milestone of more than $79,000. The goal of the GoFundMe is set at $100,000 where 2,000 people have currently made donations.

Newsweek has reached out to Chris Jericho, a well-known WWE wrestler, and singer-songwriter Bryan Adams as the two were listed as donors on the GoFundMe page. The Context Rourke is former professional boxer and an Oscar-nominated actor known for his roles in the late 1970s and 1980s cinema, including Diner, Rumble Fish and 9 ½ Weeks. While Rourke eventually left the film industry, his performances stayed with many fans who are now hopeful to keep the actor from losing his home. What To Know The GoFundMe, which launched Sunday morning, asks for fans to help the 73-year-old stay in his home as he’s threatened with eviction. Rourke was originally served a three-day notice to pay rent or leave the property of his three-bedroom lease on December 18, according to the Los Angeles Times. He currently owes $59,100 for the year of 2025, according to legal documents. “At the height of his success, he stepped away from Hollywood in search of truth and authenticity, choosing risk over comfort. Boxing—real and punishing—left lasting physical and emotional scars, and the industry that once celebrated him moved on quickly. What followed were years of struggle not defined by spectacle, but by survival: health challenges, financial strain, and the quiet toll of being left behind,” the GoFundMe page reads. “Today, Mickey is facing a very real and urgent situation: the threat of eviction from his home. This fundraiser is being created with Mickey’s full permission to help cover immediate housing-related expenses and prevent that from happening. Mickey Rourke is an icon—but his trajectory, as painful as it is, is also a deeply human one. It is the story of someone who gave everything to his work, took real risks, and paid real costs.” Currently, 2,000 people have donated a little more than $79,000 as of Monday afternoon to help “give Mickey stability and peace of mind during an extremely stressful time—so he can stay in his home and have the space to get back on his feet.” “Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference,” the GoFundMe page reads. All funds withdrawn from the GoFundMe, which is run by Liya-Joelle Jones, a friend and member of Rourke’s management team, are said to be applied directly toward Rourke’s immediate needs and expenses. Designer Philipp Plein and actor Mickey Rourke walk runway for the Billionaire Fall/Winter 19/20 collection by Philipp Plein during New York Fashion Week on February 11, 2019, in New York City. What People Are Saying Liya-Joelle Jones, a friend and member of Rourke’s management team, told The Hollywood Reporter: “Mickey is going through a very difficult time right now, and it’s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help.“ One donor wrote on the GoFundMe page: “Hey Mickey I loved Angel Heart and The Wrestler. Here's a couple of bones from a hard working truck driver. It's not much but I hope it means something. You're an awesome dude and I hope things improve for you in the new year. Just keep your head up and try to live within your means. Much love, brother!” Another donor wrote: “Mickey, I hope you overcome these temporary difficulties very soon. Wishing you a swift resolution to all the challenges you’re facing. You are a true legend... stay strong!”
