The No. 22 UCLA Bruins (11-4) lost their second consecutive Big Ten game on Tuesday night, falling to the No. 24 Michigan Wolverines (12-3) at home. This loss snapped their eight-game home winning streak to start the season. The Wolverines' strong shooting was a major factor in the Bruins' defeat. The Bruins allowed 94 points, the most they've given up in a game this season, compared to their average of 59.2 points allowed per game.
Michigan transfer center Vlad Goldin had a career-high 36 points. The Wolverines shot an impressive 61.5% from the field and 53.6% from 3-point range (15-28), making 15 three-pointers. The Bruins continued to struggle at the free throw line and overall shooting for the second straight game. UCLA started 0-8 from deep and finished 2-20 (10%). Junior forward Tyler Bilodeau and sophomore guard Sebastian Mack led the Bruins with 17 points each. Sophomore guard Eric Dailey Jr. returned after missing the previous game against Nebraska and scored 13 points, 7 of which came from free throws. He shot 0-4 from 3-point range. The Bruins trailed by as many as 18 points in the first half, but cut the deficit to 10 at halftime. They made a second-half push, taking a 3-point lead with about 13 minutes left.
