The teacher, who attempted to restore order between the students, had her back turned when one of the girls picked up the metal chair and hurled it in the educator’s direction.
The chair struck the teacher in the head causing her to drop to the floor, where she remained still for seven seconds.
The teacher instantly dropped to the floor due to the blunt trauma and did not move for several seconds after being hit.The superintendent shared that the student who threw the chair will be held accountable according to the law and the district’s code of conduct. The viral video — which has amassed over 21 million views on X, formerly known as Twitter — has sparked outrage among local leaders, who pointed out that the assault amplifies Michigan’s poor school system.
