Quality Coatings in Fowlerville, Michigan, received a wave of complaints after the display was put up outside the business.
But it caused outrage after Kathy DeTroyer drew attention to the display in a post on Facebook last week.
"How is this ok? I am disgusted that this is in my hometown," DeTroyer wrote on Facebook alongside pictures of the display."Way to display your ignorance. Democrat or Republican this is just wrong. At least I know who not to do business with."that the rope looks like a noose. "Don't buy from this company," wrote John Machowicz."Their racist display is not vulgar but anti-American."
Alongside a picture of the scarecrow, he wrote:"I'll never support them. Here's what they thought would be funny for Halloween...racists! They demonstrated complete lack of empathy when people complained. They owe their town a public apology. Shame on them."
