Michelle Yeoh knows exactly how to deliver a line, a look, and an entrance.The Oscar winner graced the red carpet Wednesday night for the world premiere of Star Trek: Section 31, held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. The actor looked like a force of glamour in a floor-length gown from Balenciaga’s Fall/Winter 2024 ready-to-wear collection.The dress had a sparkly golden-brown base embellished with an abstract leopard print in black and mustard yellow.
To go with the ensemble, Yeoh wore her jet-black bob extra choppy and swiped on a sharp black cat eye, mimicking the points of her boots. It was a look made for an empress.Coming straight off her massive hit as Wicked’s Madame Morrible, Yeoh is now back on her sci-fi film schedule. The actor is the Star Trek movies’ first leading lady. She has been with the franchise since 2017, and in the new film she returns in her role as bold antiheroine Emperor Philippa Georgiou, from Star Trek: Discovery.
