Michelle Obama made a stylish statement on The Jennifer Hudson Show, wearing a two-tone Bottega Veneta outfit that subtly referenced the brand's creative director's departure and Pantone's color of 2025.
As a former first lady, Michelle Obama certainly knows how to dress to impress. And during a recent visit to The Jennifer Hudson Show, the lawyer and writer stole the show in a two-tone fit courtesy of Bottega Veneta .Seeing the look, it’s clear that both Obama and her stylist, Meredith Koop, pay close attention to the news cycle. Let me tell you why.
First of all, it was recently announced that the current creative director of Bottega, Matthieu Blazy, will be leaving his post, and Obama’s outfit seemed to act as a celebration of his work at the house. Secondly, Pantone recently declared “mocha mousse” to be the color of 2025, and the hue got a subtle wink in Obama’s fit as well.At the base, Obama wore a leather asymmetrical dress from Bottega Veneta’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection. The piece featured a scoop-neck bodice and a gathered bubble skirt, which swooped to one side like a curtain. To match the dress, Obama rocked a pair of thigh-high ruched boots, also in black leather, which featured pointy toes and stiletto drop heels.Where the mocha came in was with Obama’s blazer—a long, single-breasted piece with notch lapels and pockets decorating the front. The businesswear slightly contrasted the leather articles, in color and material, while still keeping things fairly neutral. However, the Becoming author spiced things up a bit with her jewelry, which included a set of oversize, pear-shaped earrings in warm, ombré tones, as well as thick golden rings that looked like liquid metal swirling around her fingers.Obama has not made many public appearances this fall, save for a “Get Out the Vote” rally and a few campaign stops that were in support of former presidential nominee Kamala Harris. But whether she’s on the campaign trail or on daytime television, rest assured that Mrs. Obama will always dress to the nines
