“We weren’t expecting this, but when we saw Ngon on a few hopeful lists, we thought maybe we’d be invited,” she toldNgon’s personal touches both in the decor and menu are a nod to owner Carol Nguyen’s desire to “share the vibrancy of her homeland’s cooking with Dallas diners.” Opening mid-pandemic was risky, and she and her team worked to survive as they watched restaurants around them close. But as someone with multiple family ties to the food business, Nguyen knew what it would take to build a successful restaurant.
