Northern Ireland boss says province needs more facilities across all sports

As the debate about the redevelopment of Casement Park continues to be played out in certain circles it has once again highlighted the need for sporting facilities in Northern Ireland.

Since then we have seen the redevelopment of Windsor Park and Ravenhill, but Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill feels there is still a dearth of facilities across all sports in the province. “We have some amazing rugby players that we've produced as well, without having amazing facilities to point to, so I think anything which improves the facilities for sport in this country is a good thing. I also think that we have to be more unified in how we approach it, that we shouldn't build things just necessary individually for one sport.

“I see that in England I see that at the grounds where they play rugby. I’ve played at Swansea where the Ospreys play. I played at Wigan with Rugby League played there also. So I know how that works, and there's a challenge and all of that.
